The Maxon CS-9 Stereo Chorus is an analog chorus pedal that generates its effect by mixing the dry signal with a delayed, pitch-modulated copy. Its Rate control sets the speed of the modulation, while Depth adjusts how strongly the pitch wavers. The pedal splits its output into two jacks: one carries the dry signal, and the other carries the effected signal, creating a spacious, widening stereo image when both are connected to separate amplifiers or mixer channels. A single Intensity knob blends the amount of chorus effect into the overall sound, allowing for subtle thickening or more pronounced movement. The CS-9 uses a bucket-brigade delay chip to produce its characteristic warm, liquid modulation, and it can be powered by a standard 9-volt battery or an external DC adapter.
