The Boss PH-1 is a phaser pedal designed for electric guitar, offering a classic phase-shifting effect. Its controls include Rate, which adjusts the speed of the modulation, and Depth, which sets the intensity of the sweeping filter effect. The pedal features a single footswitch for engaging and bypassing the effect, and it operates on a standard 9-volt battery or an optional AC adapter. The PH-1 produces a swirling, sweeping sound by shifting the phase of the signal and mixing it with the dry signal, creating a characteristic whooshing tone that varies with the Rate and Depth settings.
