The Boss LMB-3 Bass Limiter Enhancer combines a limiter with a dedicated enhancer circuit tailored for bass guitar. Its limiter section uses a Ratio control to set the amount of compression applied once the signal exceeds the threshold, while the Threshold control determines the input level at which limiting begins. The Enhancer section adds a separate control that restores high-frequency definition and attack that can be lost during limiting, helping the bass cut through a mix without increasing overall volume. A Level control adjusts the output volume to compensate for the limiter's gain reduction. The pedal operates in mono with standard 1/4-inch input and output jacks, and it can be powered by a 9-volt battery or an optional AC adapter. Its compact stompbox format includes a footswitch for bypassing the effect when not in use.
